What do I need to change my address? (Choose tab)

Before changing your address with the Secretary of State, be sure to first file an Official USPS Change-of-Address with the U.S. Postal Service. If the post office doesn’t have your correct address in its systems, you may not receive you driver’s license/ID, vehicle tabs, or renewal notices in the mail.

When you change your address on your license or ID through your online Secretary of State account, you will be asked if you would also like to update your vehicle registration address. Otherwise, the address on your license or ID and vehicle registration must be updated separately.
