A marriage which has been solemnised can be registered either under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. The Hindu Marriage Act is applicable in cases where both husband and wife are Hindus, Buddhists, Jains or Sikhs or where they have converted into any of these religions. Where either of the husband or wife or both are not Hindus, Buddhists, Jains or Sikhs the marriage is registered under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.

You may apply for Marriage Certificate on this portal. Marriages which have taken place in the vicinity of Bhubaneswar Urban Local body are certified or issued marriage certificates by Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation.

This portal helps you apply and avail a marriage certificate under the Bhubaneswar urban local body. After applying online on this portal, an online payment can be done and a receipt can be generated. Applicants are motivated to generate a receipt (unique reference number) as proof of successful completion of the process. A receipt comes handy to check the data status in future.

Applicants may apply for Marriage certificate from online citizen portal or by visiting BMC office. To apply for the certificate a list of documents needs to be submitted to prove authenticity of wedding.
